Privacy Policy

Who we are

Clovie is made by Nerova AI Inc., a company incorporated in Delaware, USA. Our website is getclovie.app.

Our Information Officer contact is [email protected].

Who is responsible for what

Clovie is used by two groups of people.

  • Business owners and staff. You sign in to Clovie. For your own account details, Nerova AI Inc. is the responsible party.
  • Your clients. The business adds its clients to Clovie and decides what to do with that information. The business is the responsible party for its clients’ information. Nerova AI Inc. is the operator. We only process client information on the business’s instructions, to run the service.

If you are a client of a salon and want to see or change your information, please ask the salon first. You can also email us and we will pass it on.

What information we hold

  • Account: your name, and your email address or phone number.
  • Business details: business name, services, prices, opening hours and staff.
  • Clients: names, phone numbers and notes that the business enters.
  • Bookings: appointments and their status (booked, cancelled, no-show and so on).
  • WhatsApp messages: the messages needed to make, confirm, change and remind about bookings.
  • Voice commands: when you speak to Clovie, your voice is converted to text and used to carry out the request.
  • Usage counts: how many bookings are made, so we can bill correctly.
  • App diagnostics: technical information such as app version, device type and errors, to keep the app working.

We do not store your card details. See the list of helpers below.

Why we use it

  • To run the booking service: show the calendar, take bookings, send confirmations and reminders.
  • To sign you in and keep your account secure.
  • To bill you correctly.
  • To fix problems and improve the app.
  • To meet our legal and tax duties.

How Clovie uses AI

Clovie is an AI assistant. It reads your requests and acts on your calendar, for example “move Thandi to 3pm”.

  • The owner can choose to approve every change before Clovie makes it.
  • We do not sell your data.
  • It is our commitment that we do not use your data to train third-party AI models.

Moving information across borders

How long we keep it

  • We keep your information while your account is active.
  • After you delete your account, we delete your information within 30 days.

Keeping it safe

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including encrypted connections and access limits. No system is perfectly secure. If there is a breach that affects you, we will tell you and the Information Regulator as the law requires.

  • fix information that is wrong (correction)
  • delete your information (deletion)
  • stop using your information in certain ways (objection)

Email [email protected]. We may need to check it is really you first.

Complaints

Please talk to us first. If you are not happy, you can complain to the South African Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.

A note for people in the EU or UK

If the GDPR applies to you, you have similar rights: access, correction, deletion, objection, and the right to complain to your local data protection authority. The same email address works for all of these.

Changes to this policy

If we make important changes, we will tell account holders by email. The date at the top shows when this page was last updated.
